The Lokayan Cultural, Social, Educational and Multipurpose Organisation, Mumbai was established in the year 2013. The main aim of this organisation is to educate through art and educate art. Also the organisation aims at conducting various constructive campaigns in the fields of folk art and folk lore. The organisation has conducted various programs in order to present and study the Indian folk culture, to enable a person of any age group, from school to higher education to be able to learn the folk art, to prepare artists for the public awareness, etc.

From 2017 to 2021, initiatives such as Bharud training in Pandharpur, an online folk play writing workshop with West Zone Cultural Centre, and cultural exchange seminars on Konkan folk arts fostered spiritual awareness and interregional dialogue.
Street Plays
Performed in collaboration with government bodies like MSACS, the Election Commission, and municipal departments to raise social awareness.

From 2020 to 2024, digital initiatives like the Acting & Folk Challenge on YouTube and an Instagram Reel Contest engaged the public and youth by promoting folk arts through creative online platforms.

Scholarly books with ISBNs have been published on folk art and literature, including Majhi Boli, a landmark work documenting 57 endangered dialects in Maharashtra, lauded by the Honourable Governor.
